at the heart of the area with the most fresh water

Mia Hotel Chocó is right at the heart of the area with the most fresh water. This means that the natural biodiversity is abundant, both on land and in the water, as Chocó is part of the Columbian jungle lowlands. The activities on offer attract both tourists and scientific researchers who observe the dynamics of the ecosystems. The hotel itself contributes towards the protection of the natural environment by providing guidance about the importance of preserving the ecosystems in the activities organized for guests.

Whale-watching

This nature show impresses professional biologists, tourists and nature enthusiasts. Whale-watching creates a close connection with the wildlife and you can experience it for yourself between the months of July and October.

San Pacho Festival

This festival takes place between September 3rd and October 5th for the patron saint of Chocó, who is Saint Francis of Assisi. This festival combines religion, food, cultural fusion and the joy of community.

Tutunendo river and environmental trail

Just 30 minutes from the hotel, you can walk along a trail where you can see the birds and animals of this balanced ecosystem. An immersive experience in the jungle where you can discover trees and plants that you won’t see anywhere else.

Sal De Frutas waterfall

Walk a little further along this environmental trail and, about 40 minutes from the hotel, you’ll realize that you are walking along the edge of the Tutunendo river, where you can find the Sal de Frutas waterfall. Its name comes from the sight of jumping and watching how the water moves from several meters away.

Caraño shopping mall

If you are looking for entertainment, culture and shopping, this is the place to visit. Mainly because it is just two minutes from the hotel. You can amuse yourself in the cinema or the clothing shops with both national and international brands.

Atrato river, promenade and cathedral

This border river between Quibdó and Antioquia is the most navigable after El Magdalena and El Cauca. It can be seen from the iconic promenade, very near the San Francisco de Asís Cathedral, just 10 minutes from the hotel.

Manuel Mosquera Park

This park is just a ten minute walk from the hotel. It has recreation options for entertaining children, with children’s games, and adults, with an outdoor gym. On Sundays, there are fairs for the whole family.
